Shamrock
The kappa Delta Shamrock philanthropy is our biggest national philanthropy. It is a project we put on once a year with much preparation and enthusiasm. Shamrock is a way for us to give back to the community and raise money for Prevent Child Abuse America, as well as a Jullianne's Anchorage, the local abuse prevention center we support.  In the past we used to hold a big annual golf tournament, but this past year in 2008 we decided to hold a kids carnival at a local elementary school. With the support of people in the community, donations from local businesses, and our wonderful fraternities we are always able to make Shamrock a success!

The Girl Scouts
Kappa Delta's all around the world support the Girls Scouts. It is another one of our national philanthropies. Each semester, we at Beta Rho, plan a special event to do with a local troop in our area. We love spending time with the girls and are glad that we can give them a positive image to look up to. This past spring 2008 semester we had a lot of fun putting together an easter egg hunt that the girls really enjoyed.

American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons Research Awards

Three awards of $20,000 are given annually to recognize outstanding research in orthopaedics and to enable researchers to continue their efforts. Our chapter annually donates money to help support this award.

Children's Hospital of Richmond, Virginia



Children's Hospital treats all children's problems and still turns away no one for financial reasons. Kappa Delta is a primary sustaining supporter of the Hospital and Kappa Deltas serve on its governing board.

San Diego Walks
The city of San Diego hosts a variety of charity walks every year and Kappa Delta always signs up. Our chapter donates money to the event and we all lace up our running shoes and spend the day walking or running for a cause. It is always a lot of fun and great bonding time with your sisters.

Greek Week
Greek week is the greek community's biggest event of the year. All the fraternities and sororities get into groups of about five and compete in team colors. We compete in raising money, playing games, and a lip sync. During this week we have many fun activities such as a big BBQ and attending a Padres game. This week of fun brings the entire greek community together to work toward a goal of helping a local organization. Kappa Delta's yellow team has been the greek week 1st place winners for 2 years in a row now!!
