One of the best things about being a Kappa Delta is our jam-packed social calendar. Here on the SDSU campus, Kappa Delta's definitely have the most fun!
Formals
Each year Kappa Delta has four formals: Two Preference dances, Crush, and Emerald Ball. The Preference dance is a dance we attend with one of our favorite fraternities, while Crush and Emerald ball are dances we bring our own date to. They are usually held at hotels or banquet halls and one of the best parts is the party buses we take to the actually event. These formals are all a lot of fun and give us a chance to dress up like it's prom all over again.

Exchanges
Kappa Delta has many exchanges every semester. There are two types of exchanges: in house exchanges and venue exchanges. In house exchanges are when we get together at a certain fraternity house and party with the boys all night long. Venue exchanges are when we take party buses with a fraternity and party at a hotel or other venue. Exchanges are always themed and always a lot of fun.

Big sis/ Lil sis
Kappa Delta's Big sis/Lil sis week is always a lot of fun. It is a week full of presents and surprises. Each day a Big sis and will exchange gifts with their Lil sis, but it will be a secret. At the end of the week the Lil sis will find out who her new Big sis is and it is is very exciting. The role of the Big sis is to mentor the Lil sis and teach her everything she needs to know about being a Kappa Delta.

Dagger revealing
One of the Kappa Delta symbols is the dagger. To represent this every new member receives a Dagger sis. This sis is kind of like a second big sis. In a special ceremony the dagger sis is revealed and she presents her lil dag with the symbolic dagger.

Walk Arounds
Walk arounds are something Kappa Delta does every week. It is when we walk around to all the fraternities and interupt their meetings with a cute song and dance. The boys absolutely love it! And we're pretty sure they don't mind the pizza, candy and other gifts we bring them, as well.
The Fraternities reciprocate by holding their own walk arounds! They always come by and interupt our meetings with a cute skit announcing an upcoming party and bring with them lots and lots of gifts.

Kappa Delta's Annual Greek God Calender
This past year in 2007, Kappa Delta started a new project: The annual Greek God Calendar! We held auditions and found the best looking Fraternity boys on campus to portray in a 2008 calendar. It was a huge hit with the other sororities and all the girls on campus. We can't wait to start auditions next fall for 2009!

Family Days
Every year Kappa Delta holds a mother/daughter day and a father/daughter day. We usually have a brunch, hang at the beach, or go to a local amusement park. It is always a lot of fun and our parents really seem to love it. It is a way for them to meet our sisters and learn more about our Kappa Delta experience.

Sisterhood Events
One of the most important aspects of being in a Sorority is the sisterhood, so we organize a Kappa Delta sisterhood event at least once every month. Some events include going to dinner, going to a movie, a day of tanning on our house's sundeck, or a sleepover at the KD house. When all of us Kappa Delta's get together for one of these events, it is nothing but good times!

Vacations
To us Kappa Delta isn't just a school thing. During school breaks and holidays we still hang out and do things together. Some of our trips include snowboarding in Tahoe during Christmas, SWAT in Mexico during spring break, lake Havasu during summer, and Vegas, LA, or Disneyland on the weekend! Nothing makes traveling more fun then going with a dozen of your sisters.

New Member Retreat
Kappa Delta's new member retreat is something we put on every semester for the new pledge class. We take the new girls to a active member's house for the day and have big fun BBQ. It is a fun way for the new girls to bond with everyone in their pledge class. We teach the new girls the first few things about being a kappa Delta, play games, and give them lots of presents to welcome them into our sisterhood.
